70s boho wedding at Union

There are just two words that we can use to sum up Cameron and Emily’s wedding and that is… ON TREND! Their 70s boho wedding at Union had it all – from retro type to a neon sign to stunning jewelry and unique shapes. And let’s not forget the ultra-trendy appearance of a disco ball.Ā

Cameron and Emily met in the quintessential millennial way – they swiped right. After an exchange of get-to know-me messages, they planned our first date for drinks at Westport Flea Market (hells ya)! They finished the night bravely making their way through a haunted house, The Edge of Hell in the West Bottoms. And as they survived the horror and jumped out of the 2-story window… they became inseparable.Ā

As their relationship bloomed around iconic KC stops, Cameron kept the same tune for the proposal. Which takes us to the stairs of the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Close friends convinced Emily that they were to meet at the museum to take some photos. But while they were there, Cameron got down on one knee and asked a very important question. Afterward, their families were waiting at the Westport Flea Market to celebrate. Almost 3 years to the day of their first date at the same local spot.

Take a walk with us through Cameron and Emily’s wedding day as we appreciate all of the details they incorporated, both big and small!

THE LOVE STORY

WEDDING DATE:Ā October 2, 2021

HOW THEY MET: Our meet-cute is the quintessential millennial story; we swiped right. After an exchange of get-to-know-me messages, we planned our first date for drinks at Westport Flea Market. We finished the night bravelyĀ  making our way through a haunted house, Edge of Hell. We survived, jumped out the 2 story window, and became inseparable.

THE PROPOSAL:Ā Cameron proposed on the stairs of the Nelson-Atkins Museum. Close friends had convinced me we were meeting there to take some photos. Shock ensued as Cameron got down on one knee. Afterwards, our families were waiting at Westport Flea Market, where we had our first date, almost 3 years before,

FAVORITE WEDDING DAY MEMORY: My engagement ring belonged to my Great Great Aunt, and on the day of our wedding, Cameron wore her husband’s bolo tie.
