Before the champagne pops and the dancing starts, there’s one thing every unforgettable bach party needs – a solid plan. From appointing a party master to avoiding common mishaps, we’ve rounded up the bach party do’s & don’ts to make the night fun, safe, and totally stress-free. Let’s make it happen!

MAKE IT HAPPEN... Your List of To-Do's

DO: APPOINT A PARTY MASTER

There are a lot of things that go into throwing a successful party. Make sure to appoint a responsible and vocal person (most likely your maid of honor or best man) who can manage the party, oversee the safety of the group, and enforce the overall budget. This is your part so you want to make sure you leave all the important details on someone else’s shoulders.

DO: RESERVE A BOOTH OR PRIVATE SPACE

Choose a club or venue where your party can reserve an area for the whole night. The last thing you want is for everyone to have to constantly watch over or move their personal belongings all throughout the night. This will optimize your time and give your guests the ability to cut loose and really celebrate your upcoming wedding to the fullest. It will also give you a reserved space to avoid any unwanted guests.

DO: PACK UP THE ESSENTIALS

This may seem like a given but having water, medicine, and food on-hand at the hotel or in the limo will become an instant lifesaver.

DO: FIND OUT WHO WILL BE YOUR DJ

It is always a good thing to do a little homework and find out who is the DJ for the evening at your chosen club/venue. Each venue has a different focus and clientele and their DJ will follow suit. You definitely want to make sure that the venue you choose is using someone who will accomodate your musical style. The last thing you want is to spend a lot of money and not enjoy that atmosphere created by the music being provided.

DO: ARRANGE TRANSPORTATION

Whether it’s a limo, party bus, or rideshare services, having a well-thought-out transportation plan contributes significantly to the overall safety and enjoyment of the event. This precaution is particularly important if the celebration involves multiple venues or clubs. Transportation eliminates the need for attendees to worry about driving and allows everyone to fully enjoy the festivities without concerns about safety. Communicate the transportation plan clearly to all attendees beforehand, providing details on pick-up and drop-off locations and times.

DO: ADD PERSONAL TOUCHES

There are so many fun ways to add personal touches to a bach party. Consider bringing some custom decorations, such as banners and signage reflecting the theme of the event. Or plan matching outfits/accessories for a sense of unity and offer thematic party favors like customized tote bags. Include a display of memorable photos or customize games based on shared memories. These thoughtful details add a unique and heartfelt touch, transforming the celebration into a truly personalized and unforgettable experience.

DO: EXPECT EVERYONE TO PAY

A tab can be a blessing and a curse. Make sure your party master has everyone contribute to your group budget or have everyone establish their own tabs at the beginning of the night. You don’t want your party master stuck with a large unpaid bill after all the work they just did making this night memorable. It is common for people to leave before the end of your party and if you do not plan, it can set your party up for a sour ending.

STEER CLEAR... Your List of Don'ts

DON'T: OVERLOOK YOUR SAFETY

Now on to the don’ts in the bach party do’s and don’ts. It’s always good to avoid all problems at all costs. One of the most important ways to do this is to choose a venue that has a very strong and fluent security staff. When inquiring about this, have your planner attend the club beforehand and see how they operate during the prime partying hours. If there happens to be any public drama that occurs at the club or venue during your party, you want to make sure that the security staff can take care of it quickly and efficiently.

DON'T: DRINK AND DRIVE

Always make sure to appoint or hire a designated driver. You never want to be figuring out who is driving at the end of the night. It can make for an unsafe and uncomfortable situation. Also to avoid any after party danger, ask your paid or designated driver to pick your group up at the entrance of the venue or bar.

DON'T: WAIT TO MAKE RESERVATIONS

Once you have the details you need, start making hotel, transportation, and club reservations. Bookings can fill up fast, especially during the busy months, and you don’t want to miss out on the best!

DON'T: PRESSURE FOR PARTICIPATION

Respecting the comfort levels and preferences of all attendees is important when planning a bach party. While the aim is to create a memorable and enjoyable experience, it’s crucial to recognize that each person has their own boundaries and comfort zones. Therefore, pressuring anyone to participate in activities that they find uncomfortable is a strict “don’t.”

DON'T: OVERPLAN THE EVENT

While it’s tempting to pack a party with non-stop activities, it’s equally essential to incorporate moments of downtime into the itinerary. Downtime allows the group to relax, bond, and enjoy spontaneous moments without a rigid schedule. Downtime could be a relaxed meal, a casual hangout at the hotel, or a quiet afternoon by the pool.

DON'T: IGNORE RESTRICTIONS & RULES

Disregarding rules and regulations at hotels, on transportation, or in clubs during your bach party could lead to a run in with the police and possible legal issues. You don’t want to be kicked out of your hotel, left behind with no ride, or risk the safety of the attendees. Having a party master that can prioritize compliance is important to ensuring everyone enjoys a seamless and enjoyable celebration without any legal complications. Get rowdy… just not that rowdy.
