As he stopped for a drink, he noticed his sister’s dance team poster that had the most beautiful girl he had ever seen on it. He ran upstairs and insisted to his sister that she introduce him to this girl as soon as possible. Without hesitation, his sister made it clear that Brittany wouldn’t be interested and already had a boyfriend. To which Bryan immediately responded, “Tell them to break up! We’re getting married!” From then on, he made sure to attend every one of his sister’s dance performances in hopes that Brittany would notice him. After a year of endless attempts to get her attention, Brittany transferred schools and he never got a chance to meet her. A year later Bryan was looking for a job, and his sister mentioned Hallbrook Country Club was hiring and Brittany worked there. He applied that day, and got hired on the spot. Preparing for his first shift, management informed me that him that Brittany would be conducting his training and he became really nervous. It was official- Bryan had finally met the girl of his dreams. After dating for some time, Bryan decided that it was time to pop the question. After some diligent preparations, an evening was planned on the Plaza. Bryan and Brittany enjoyed a delightful meal at Houston’s. Before departing, Bryan explained to Brittany that he wanted to order some dessert to-go for both of them (despite her craving for some chocolate gelato from somewhere else). Little did Brittany know that Bryan had pre-ordered her favorite cupcake from Cupcake A La Mode with the question “Marry Me?” on top. The second cupcake box contained an engagement ring. We walked to the J.C. Nichols Fountain and picked out a picnic table to enjoy our dessert. All the while, a short distance away was a stone wall where both of their families were hiding. Brittany opened her cupcake box to find the “Marry Me?” note adorned on the top. She looked up to find Bryan on one knee, holding the engagement ring that had been in the other box. She was so stunned that Bryan ended up asking her to marry him twice, before she came to in a crying, laughing combination and exclaimed, “Yes!” After the proposal, wedding planning began immediately. Brittany has a love of orchestrating events and being organized – this was right up her alley. Together, Bryan and Brittany planned a wedding with a breathtaking view of the countryside and a peaceful ceremony under a canopy of beautiful summer trees. The months leading up to the wedding they worked on personalized do-it-yourself projects such as the guest book, signature cupcake signs, and a photo string that illustrated photos of them throughout their relationship. The wedding day arrived and after getting ready with their friends and family, Bryan and Brittany met for the first time on their wedding day for a first look, the most intimate moment of the day before saying “I do’s” and celebrating with family and friends. The Groom’s Favorite Part of the Day My favorite part of the wedding was the reception. The food was great and I enjoyed spending time with our closest family and friends. Our DJ’s really got the party started and I had a blast dancing all night long. As always, Brittany looked absolutely beautiful and the night couldn’t have been better! The Bride’s Favorite Part of the Day My favorite part of the wedding was seeing Bryan for the first time. We did a “first look” in the park where the ceremony was held. Our photographers placed Bryan at the end of the aisle facing the opposite direction, and had me walk up behind, to meet him. Right before he turned around all I could think about was how happy I was and how all the nervousness and butterflies I had felt leading up to this moment, had gone away. When he turned around I couldn’t stop smiling! He looked so handsome and I was so happy we were finally together!
