There are few things more intimate than an elopement. And in Missouri, it can be hard to find a true one-of-a-kind place to exchange your vows. So when we stumbled upon Wildcliff, we knew we had to stage the perfect setting for a cliffside elopement shoot.
The ended up being a rainy one – or more like a downpour one, but that didn’t stop us from running out from under cover during calm moments to capture some photos amongst the beauty of Wildcliff. From the forest to the open field, and the cliffs, there was ample space to explore the beauty of the grounds where a real elopement could be arranged.
The ceremony was set up within the forest on a tradition rug with tall taper candles. Since an elopement doesn’t traditionally feature a reception, a small intimate setting was arranged with a teepee for the bride and groom to grab a bite to eat. And the finale to the cliffside elopement was the rainy photo session on the water by the cliffs, complete with some dramatic smoke.
Really you don’t need anything fancy, just love.
